Hello There!
Welcome, take a seat, make yourself comfortable...maybe make a cup of tea.
Inspired by the London Olympics I took up rowing in 2012. At this time I was living in Knoxville and studying at the University of Tennessee, UT Crew kindly took me under their wing and taught me the basics of how not to die in a rowing boat. I still distinctly remember the smell of their erg room, which was next to the pool - a wonderfully nauseating mix of sweat and chlorine.
Back on UK soil I finished my studies at Keele University, progressing from novice to senior squad and earning my half colours. I had a tremendous amount of fun whilst rowing with Keele and enjoy watching them grow from strength to strength. I grew up in Hemel Hempstead - take a look on a map and you'll quickly see there's not much water (just one big roundabout) and determined to keep rowing I found myself moving away from home again. This time to Henley on Thames, where I've called home for the past 3 years.
Several seasons at Henley Rowing club and I now find myself stepping up, beginning a new adventure as part of Leanders openweight womens squad.
And now you're up to date, I hope you stick around and enjoy reading my ramblings.
